About a dance????????

So I am going to a dance at an all boys school. I have been to one before. Its weird not knowing any of the guys there. So how do you get them to dance with you? or dance in general? most of them stand on the side. The only way i saw that usually worked is when girls danced with other girls. Is there a better way to get them?About a dance????????
My guess would be watch the boys and see which ones of them seem interested in the music (either they are moving with the music, or they are concentrating on the floor while the music is playing). Those are the ones who want to dance but might just be too shy to ask, or they think that a girl will turn them down.

When you find one that seems interested just go over and say ';Would you like to dance to this song?';. That way they can answer your question several different answers and it won't be so awkward for them. They might just say ';no';, but they may say ';I don't really care for this song, but maybe the next one'; and if they say something like that then you can ask what type of music that they like or who are their favorite artists. Or you could say, I really like this singer but I like (whatever) better.

The more you think about your question before you ask it, the better chance you have of dancing with someone. You could also just say ';I really like (the artist the is playing), do you?';

I myself would not dance with another girl, but, if you want to make your way across the room, it might be a good way to do so. If you go with a friend, dance with her, over to where the boys are standing that you want to talk to. Unless of course they are standing near the refreshments, and then you could just walk over there for that, but go with your friend so it looks like you are having a good time already.

Hope that helps.
