Do you know waltz? Or a simple, put your one hand at her waist (it can also be 2 hands on the waist) and the other holding her hand. Keep it a bit close not too far that will be corny. The step is, step close step. Step your left foot going to the left and close it with your right foot. Then step your left foot again in it's place now (that will be 3 counts right-that is 1 set). ok, well when i was at your age it was her with her arms on your shoulders and your on her waist hip area, you can be as far or close as you want and just go side to side with the music or let her lead, just look around at other kids trying to dance too, you will fit in and have no problem... oh yeah with this technique you can get her pretty close and propably play some grabass. well have a good time

It depends on what kind of music they play but just to be safe...do the same thing everyone else or she is doing (still try to be yourself!!)

well if it's very formal, you may want to try a simple waltz. it isn't very hard and it's pretty formal. use your best judgement and listen to the music, you'll know what type is right.
