Don't feel like a loser. You're just nervous. Everyone can learn how to dance. No lie. It's just a question of relaxing and finding a style that suits you. The word 'dance' encompasses so many different ideas, covers so many different areas, that to ask if one can in general 'dance' it would be a bit like saying 'I can speak.' In what language, what dialect? For instance, ballet dancers must be highly trained, but think about it, not all ballerinas will be able to transition into belly dancing, or pop and lockin.

So, first thing, look around for a class that suits you, and makes you feel comfortable. You're not gonna be able to learn it off some site, trust me. It's all about the small details, and an online teacher won't be able to correct your mistakes. I recommend salsa- it's extremely popular and easy to learn, especially if you're dedicated. Belly dancing is great too, and teaches you to isolate the stomach muscles (compliments winding perfectly too... but that's another story!) After finding a style that suits you, it's only a matter of turning that passion and knowledge of your style into something that you can really express at a club. And you know, dancing is something you can only get better at. And you will get better. Practice, practice, practice, and ENJOY it.

Alternatively, you could embrace the side of you that can't dance, dance anyway and in the process learn a thing or two. When you do go out, the amount of people who will just be standing there bobbing and jerking up and down and just having a good time will surprise you ;)How do you dance? im 19 and from north east jersey ;(?
