How to ask a girl to dance with you?

I've known her since grade 6 but can't get up the courage to ask her to dance. I think it is finally time to ask her to dance; my grade 9 valentines day dance is coming up; I don't want to ask her out for the whole dance, just during the dance for one song. Anybody have any suggestions?How to ask a girl to dance with you?
Just go up to her and say ';Hi *name*. Would you like to dance?'; And hold your hand out while asking so you can escort her to the floor. That's a good gentleman thing to do.How to ask a girl to dance with you?

Go ahead and practice it every day from now until the dance at LEAST 50 times a day.
go up to her with a smile on your face and ask her if she would like to dance with you . dont have a long conversation before asking her cuz that just will make you less likely to ask her if you get straight to the point with nothing holding you back, just go for it :) if someone did that to me i would be happy so say yes. if she says no.. its not the end of the world is it? good luck mate xx
