How do guys pick a girl to dance with at a party or dance?

if you were at a dance (a dance with a bunch of different high schools, so it's okay to dance with strangers), would you only go up to the girls who are already dancing and look like they're having fun, or would you go up to a girl who was just kinda standing there awkwardly ??How do guys pick a girl to dance with at a party or dance?
I go to a ballroom and dance about once a month, and I usually don't bring my fiance because he works. Anyway, the polite thing to do is to approach a girl at the start of a fast dance (not a slow dance because it is too awkward), smile, introduce yourself, and ask if she would like to dance (it also helps if you know how to dance). If she has been sitting around a long time she might be bored and will be more likely to come dance with you. After one dance, walk her back to where you found her and thank her for the dance, then find another girl and repeat. It is easy, no pressure. After a few times you won't even be nervous.

i think the 3rd choice would b to pick the one that has the highest chance to say yes and is at least somewhat attractive
