Guys: how would you prefer to be shot down when you try to dance with a girl in the club?

So i was out with my girls dancing in our circle and my friends brought to my attention that a guy was trying to dance with me behind me and i turned around to see. i wasn't interested in what i saw so i ignored and i think i tried to sort shift my body away. i dunno, it was instinctive and it wasn't until awhile later that i thought about it that it was kind of a ***** move and then i felt bad..but then thinking about it, i dunno any reaction that would be better than what i did? so guys, how would u prefer to be ';shot down';? and for curiosity for girls, how do you react?Guys: how would you prefer to be shot down when you try to dance with a girl in the club?
What you did instinctively is perfect. Giving someone a hint is a clear message and a graceful way to let someone down in an act communicated entirely through body language. Being more direct would be a ***** move, but at that point he was looking for cues from you, and you gave him a clear answer. You are being too hard on yourself. Anything is better than ignoring someone, just tell someone the honest truth, and if they don't respect your decision, then you can be rude to them all you want.
You should grab him by the balls and squeeze very hard. No guy who dances at a club deserves to have balls anyway.
since I am a girl that would ask girls to dance, I am going to go ahead and answer.

The way you reacted seems like a subtle enough hint, I would move away as well.

Another way would be to start dancing closely with someone else... focus your attention on them... even if they are another female. If the guy doesn't get the hint, ';do you mind, I am a little busy!'; because then he would be being the rude one.
I think you acted fine. You gave a hint by shifting your body away. You weren't rude.
